History in the Making: The Recall of Braxton, Smith and Blakita is APPROVED by county

Ypsilanti, MI -- The village has spoken. The Washtenaw County Election Commission listened. There will be a recall campaign that will circulate petitions for the recall of Willow Run Community School Board members Claudette Braxton, Board President, Clifford Smith, Board Trustee, and Andreas Blakita, Board Trustee.
We invite you to read the information contained here in this website, as well as www.willowrunwatchdogs.com to garner a deeper understanding as to why these board members are being held accountable and RECALLED from the Willow Run Community Schools Board of Education.
In addition to voting to approve a contract extension and raise for the embattled superintendent Dr. Doris Hope-Jackson, Braxton, Blakita and Smith voted to approve a budget that included the assuption of getting 170 new students enrooled in our district in order to balance our 2008-09 budget. The acts were predicated without community support! The budget that Dr. Jackson and David Houle, Financial Officer for Willow Run schools, was irresponsible and lacking clear vision and realistic financial goals.
Yes, Willow Run has lost more students than we have gained. Our Board of Education refuses to listen to the staff and to the community. If this Trio is not removed from their elected postions, then our school district will continue to suffer Staff loss, poor leadership, enrollment decline, deficit spending, lack of strategy, lack of community support and most importantly, LACK of TRUST!

Critical Questions that go unanswered in WR

Mrs. Braxton, Mr. Smith, Mr. Blakita and Dr. Jackson have collectively created and supported an environment in Willow Run where students, teachers, staff, parents and community members can not thrive. They have prompted a great many employees and families to either leave the district or remain in agony. They ignore public concerns and continue to maintain an "us against them" policy. Willow Run, we have been mislead, disenfranchised and disengaged. Lets work together to send a clear message that CHANGE is coming today!
Why have more than 77 employees left the district since July 2007?
Why have there been so many grievances filed that are going to arbitration?
Why is it so hard for the superintendent to follow contracts and tell the truth?
Why does the Board allow Dr. Jackson to use anti-union tactics in WR?
Why didn't we have a plan for cutting costs in place to start the school year?
Why did we hire teachers where there were already qualified staff?
Why did Jackson make retaliatory transfers of staff based on race, sex and union activity?
Why do so many student IEPs remain in violation of state law?
Why does Dr. Jackson refuse to move into a Willow Run neighborhood?
Why does Dr. Jackson remain a school board member and resident of Harvey, IL District 152?
Why didn't the School Board allow community input into Dr. Jackson's evaluation/raise/contract?
Why does BOE allow superintendent to threaten and bully employees?
Why did the superintendent allow an open affair by Larry Gray (HS/MS principal) with a substitute teacher that is still employed in the district?
Why did Dr. Jackson make Brian Schroeder resign as Assistant Principal and take a demotion as the Dean of Students?
Why has Claudette Braxton not responded to the media when asked questions?
Why hasn't Claudette Braxton set a public agenda that the PUBLIC has input into?
Why has Andy Blakita been allowed to disrespect the public at school board meetings?
Why is rental property the only thing Cliff Smith is concerned with in Willow Run?
Why did the BOE allow public commentary to be censored?
Why hasn't the Board understood that Dr. Jackson does not care about WR?
Why has the Board allowed Dr. Jackson to continue to discriminate based on race, sex, age?
Why hasn't the High School made AYP in 5 years?
Why do we compromise our kids' education by placing inept and inexperienced staff in critical positions in the district?
Why can't Madame President Braxton lead Willow Run effectively?
Why has BOE failed in spotting crooked superintendent activity that continuoulsy ruins us?
Why can't WR retain talented teachers, students and staff?
Why does the highest concentration of homeschoolers live right here in Willow Run?
Why does the BOE permit the superintendent to deny DUE PROCESS?
How can we grow with leaders who will not lead or listen?
How can we afford to move forward as a team when their is no more community TRUST in Braxton, Smith and Blakita?
